Ahoy Mateys!

The lads and lasses over at the Library have partnered with Hoopla to bring ye thousands of movies, TV shows, music, audiobooks, and comics.

That’s right, comics.

We’re talkin’ Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, the Flash and Doctor Who! Blimey, that be a lot o’ hits. But that’s not all. The site boasts more than 450 titles including many from DC Comics! Ye can read an old favorite, like Superman, or maybe a new favorite, like Garfield, online right from yer computer, or ye can temporarily download titles with the hoopla app on IOS and Andriod devices. This isn’t just for comics, though, ye can do it with movies, music, and audiobooks too.

Seems only fittin’ to explore the comic section since we’re in the midst of getting’ geared for the Ye Ole’ Fort Collins Comic Con. Comic books be tons o’ fun. They’re excitin’, funny, entertainin’, and sometimes even inspirational. With the help of me new Hoopla subscription, I’ve pulled out some of me favorite inspirational comic book quotes. Maybe I’ll repaint the walls in me captain’s quarters with superhero quotes…

I cannot preach hate and warfare when I am a disciple of peace and love!” — Wonder Woman

Dreams save us. Dreams lift us up and transform us. And on my soul I swear: until the day when my dream of world where dignity, honor, and justice becomes the reality we all share, I’ll never stop fighting. Ever” – Superman

Life doesn’t give us purpose. We give life purpose.” -The Flash

The future is worth it. All the pain. All the tears. The future is worth the fight.” -Martian Manhuynter, the Justice League

You only have your thoughts and dreams ahead of you. You are someone. You mean something.” -Batman

Ye know what else be great about Hoopla? Ye don’t have to wait for titles to become available. There be unlimited copies o’ all yer favorites! Plus ye don’t have to worry about due dates or late fees because everything is returned automatically.

With the Fort Collins Comic Con comin’ up, I recommend ye start readin’ some comics. Ye wouldn’t want to show up as a comic illiterate would ye?
