Social and Emotional Support for Children: 20 eBook Recommendations

As we all respond to the COVID-19 with social distancing, the cancellation of in-school learning, and other changes to our “normal” routine, it’s no surprise that we’re all feeling a range of emotions.

Healthcare professionals keep reminding us how important it is to attend to the social and emotional needs that arise during times like these. And that’s particularly important for children, who might not understand what is going on or who may be struggling to express their feelings and emotions.

Our Children’s Librarians have created a list of recommended eBooks and eAudiobooks to help explore and express your emotions, build relationships, and support each other – children and adults alike – during this challenging time.

It’s called “social emotional learning” and there are tons of great resources for children through OverDrive, Hoopla, Tumblebooks, and BookFlix.
