Overview
Old Town Library’s Construction Project is largely complete! to help enhance your library experience! The project went smoothly and we just have a few more pieces to put in place! can’t wait to share the final results with.
This is a phase of a larger refresh project for Old Town Library to improve the overall customer experience. The project ties into our 2019 Master Plan which aims to “adapt interior spaces over time to respond to changing community interests and needs.”
The Old Town Library refresh project uses eco-friendly remodeling practices including repurposing some materials and furniture to minimize costs and still make necessary improvements.

Before and After Progress Photographs
Our construction is largely finalized! With just a few more pieces to put in place, we wanted to share our progress! Check out before and after photographs below.

Progress Upstairs
Upstairs at Old Town Library, we are blessed with views of the Library Park arboretum, which hosts historic and special trees rarely found in Fort Collins (have you found the Park’s Giant Sequoia?).
To leverage the views of the park, the south-facing second-floor area (affectionately called the “treehouse” by staff) is opening up into a large space to serve as a community hub for remote workers, crafters, readers, and students.

We can’t wait to share the final changes with you! Find out more details about the project via our blog post “Community Spaces: Renovating Old Town Library” by Old Town Library’s Manager Eileen McCluskey.
Please be patient with the construction process – we realize this is an inconvenience to both staff and customers, though exciting changes are coming that will hopefully do even more to heighten your experience and enjoyment at Old Town Library.
