Love the Library? Apply to Our Library Academy

It’s February and love is in the air. Including #LibraryLove!

If you’ve ever remarked, “I loooooooove the library,” then our new Poudre River Public Library Academy might make your heart skip a beat!

We’re launching our first-ever Library Academy, a six-week course where participants get a unique opportunity for an insider’s view of Library programs, services, collections, and operations, and provide feedback to improve our service to the community.

Library Academy sessions will be held every Wednesday from April 1 – May 6, 2020 from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Sessions will rotate among the three public library locations. A light dinner and refreshments will be served.

You’ll hear from Library District leadership and staff who are directly involved with the planning and management of your libraries. Topics presented during the Library Academy include the history and values of the public library; children, tween, and teen services; finance and budgeting; community services and outreach; collection development; business and nonprofit resources; and much more.

Applications are available online (Word doc.) or in-person at any of the library locations beginning February 15.

We encourage participants from throughout the District to apply and join other library supporters in getting a better understanding of the role of the public library in the community.

What to Know:

• Applications are accepted February 15 – March 15
• Applicants ages 16 and older are encouraged to apply
• Notification of acceptance no later than March 20
