Donate Used Books to the Poudre River Friends of the Library

Poudre River Friends of the Library is ready to resume accepting your donations of used books again, after taking several months off due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Friends of the Library is a group of library lovers and community volunteers that give their time to help the Poudre River Public Library District by providing financial support and advocacy. Your book donations directly support this cause – the Friends sell used books at large book sales and at the Harmony Shop and Old Town Library Nook all year long.

The Friends of the Library make a huge difference! They contribute more than $60,000 from book sale proceeds, fundraising, and memberships every year to our libraries to help fund programs and events, including the Summer Reading Challenge, visiting author series, programs, and much more.

Ready to donate your books?

Starting Monday, July 19 you can drop off donations of books that are 2010 or newer and in great condition. The donation site is at the Webster House Administration Center, located at 301 E. Olive Street. Take the driveway on the east side of the building and look for the carport with yellow shelving – this is where your books go. The donation center is staffed Monday through Friday from 9 am-1 pm.

We know many of you have been saving your books for the Friends all year, and they expect to be busy! Please be patient while new volunteers learn to process books. If you see that the shelves are overflowing, please don’t leave unattended donations. And please look your donations over to make sure you are giving us saleable items that can be used to raise money for the Poudre Libraries. Following these donation guidelines will help us make the best use of volunteer time and avoid costs to dispose of books or other items.
