Stay motivated to read this summer AND benefit the community at the same time! The time you spend reading = money for COVID-19 community relief!
“Reading Makes Cents” is a new reading fundraiser, sponsored by the Poudre River Friends of the Library, that combines the love of reading with helping the community.
“We’re excited to support the Library District’s idea of reading-for-a-cause this summer,” says Monica Gavin, president, Poudre River Friends of the Library. “It’s great way to promote reading and learning this summer and support the response efforts in our community.”
The Friends of the Library have pledged to donate $3,000 to the Northern Colorado COVID-19 Response Fund, administered by United Way Larimer County, if participants in the 2020 Summer Reading Challenge surpass 200,000 hours of reading.
Participants of all ages can keep track of their reading hours using their online Summer Reading Challenge account.
1. Visit www.PoudreLibraries.org/src.
2. Create your reading account (individual, family, group).
3. Keep track of how many minutes/hours you read.
