We know this school year is a little weird, and well, everything is really.
The Teen Librarians at Poudre River Public Libraries want to help you survive this year and excel at school – so we’re providing some study tips every Friday. We’re also providing some fun study break programs and ideas every Friday as well, to help you recharge and take care of yourself.
So far we’ve shared ideas on how to deck out your school supplies, a booklist of page turning reads, and a short video on how to evaluate sources. We’ve also had our first virtual game night.
Tomorrow (Friday, 9/25) we’ll be presenting some great writing resources and hosting a Yoga Study Break for tweens outside the Old Town Library (registration required).
Coming up in October, we’ll help you get all set up to participate in our Art-ober challenge, we’ll host another virtual game night, and present a Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark virtual escape room. We’re even having an outdoor craft program where you can decorate a reusable cloth mask that you get to keep.
We’ll also be suggesting some horror-able books to read, providing some tips for managing your time, sharing a list of teen books that are great for tweens too, and explaining what databases are (and why you should care).
Please join us every Friday throughout the school year for our Study Tip and Study Break series.
You can find most everything on our Tween Page. The videos will also be available on the Poudre Libraries YouTube channel.
Our in-person, outdoor events and our virtual game night require registration; you can either go to the Library calendar to register, or call the Answer Center at 970-221-6740.
If you have any suggestions or requests on what you’d like us to cover, please email Jenny, Nicole, and Miranda at library-teens@poudrelibraries.org.
