Our Programming Team is hard at work on the finishing details of the “Discover Your Power” Summer Reading Challenge. Ever since we came up with the theme last year, everyone has been so excited about how they can add their own powers into the program to make it the best yet!

Getting those folks who equate reading with snuggling in on a winter evening with a cup of cocoa and a good book are not surprised to find that not only is it a challenge to get kids reading over the summer to prevent that “summer slide” but to get adults to read more is also our goal!

NoCoites who are out in their gardens until the sun sets or are walking and biking on our trail systems sometimes forget about the library during a summer filled with concerts, festivals, barbeques and outdoor chores. But don’t forget we have numerous ways that you can take it with you – from Downloadable AudioBooks, the all-in-one Playaways, to AudioBooks on discs for your road trips, we have many ways to keep your brain growing along with your muscles!

People with gardening super power can find inspiration, super cooks can swoon over the latest BBQ recipe, and hikers can bone up on their next adventure.

Whatever your super power is, or whatever you want it to be, join in on the Summer Reading Challenge beginning on June 1. Adults can earn prizes along with the kids!

Go online to www.PoudreLibraries.org or stop by one of your libraries June 1 to get all the details for you and your family, and don’t miss attending the Fort Collins Comic Con on September 12. Tickets go on sale June 1 at www.fococomiccon.com with proceeds going to the Library District!
